Addictions Counselor III Jobs

Minimum of two years' clinical experience required working in the field of Mental Health & Addictions

Demonstrated knowledge of time-limited evidence based psychological assessments and treatments for Mental Disorders and Substance Use Disorders, and commitment to same

Demonstrated knowledge of Stepped Care principles and clinical care pathways, and commitment to same

Demonstrated knowledge of clinical supervision, learning and professional development, and commitment to same

Demonstrated knowledge in providing culturally informed, non-judgmental patient and family centre care, and commitment to same

Successful completion of Masters in Psychology

Excellent communication skills both oral and written are essential, including an ability to share life experience for

Provides skill-enhancement through role modelling and general instruction.

Lived experience of addiction and recovery and active involvement in a 12-Step program for alcoholism/addiction required.

Completion of course-work for certification as an Addiction Counsellor is required.

Implements systematic, ongoing goal setting with clients which includes specific planning and establishment of

Frequently and regularly assesses client's progress.
