Job Summary
We are looking for a Web Developer with experience and strong software development skills who will contribute to designing, developing and maintaining our websites and while assisting in developing new applications.
The developer should have a strong core understanding of HTML, CSS, SQL, Javascript, PHP. In addition they should be familiar the WordPress and various JavaScript frameworks(such as Node.js, Angular, React, etc)
The developer should have a strong fundamental understanding of traditional software development practices and be capable of communicating to designers, other engineers and business stakeholders.
This position will be part of our engineering team and will assist our marketing team to execute Polyga’s digital and traditional marketing as well as contribute to our core technology stack in our product portfolio.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Maintain website infrastructure including Linux/Unix server skills, Apache/Nginx, virtualhost configs, etc.;
- Have a high attention to detail in order to develop production quality websites
- Help improve and maintain the Polyga product and systems infrastructure
- Build/maintain CMS based websites in WordPress and other platforms
- Test websites on multiple platforms such as Windows, MacOS, iOS and Android.
- Deliver everything from tiny front-end UX improvements, to broad structural changes spanning multiple websites
- Design and implement product features in PHP, HTML, CSS, and Javascript using best practices
- Research and integrate new technologies to drive our development process forward
- Work with stakeholders to define requirements
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Javascript, PHP, HTML and CSS
- Experience setting up and maintaining a standard LAMP stack
- Website that interact with web APIs (REST, JSON, XML),
- Javascript Frameworks (Node.js, Angular, Node.js)
- History of developing quality websites or software that are in use
- 3+ years of experience
- A post-secondary degree in computer science or web development or related engineering field
