Wash Car And Generator Towing Operator

Job Summary:

Operating from Syncrude site locations, this position involves the transportation of our Mobile Wash Cars and generators; Moving, and safe operation of a variety of equipment including, but not limited to Single Axle Flat Tilt Deck. Operators should be mechanically inclined and physically fit to work in all kinds of weather. Preference will be given to candidates with previous hauling/towing experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Minor maintenance on wash carts.
• Set up, tear down wash carts.
• Safely operate Tilt deck in a mining environment and within guidelines outlined in BME Driving Policies.
• Attend daily toolbox and safety meetings as scheduled and adhere to corporate and site safety regulations and procedures.
• Light cleaning/housekeeping of both wash carts and equipment.
• Operate equipment in a safely manner in accordance with BME and client driving requirements.
• Operating a flat deck single axel or a class 3 truck to relocate wash carts throughout the plant and mine at Syncrude Base and Aurora.
• Completion of daily documentation, including but not limited to, customer work orders, field level Hazard assessment, pre/post trip inspections, Near Miss and Hazard IDs
• Moving light equipment (wash cars, generators, and light duty trucks) in a congested mining environment in adverse conditions, as well as to and from site locations.
• Proper use, application and storage of chemicals when required and in accordance with SDS, BME Policies/Procedures.
• Notify management immediately of equipment/vehicle deficiencies or needs for repairs.

Qualifications:

• Valid WHMIS Certification.
• Previous experience operating Tilt decks, hauling/towing trailers on and off road, as well as winching.
• Possess a valid Minimum Class 3 driver’s license with Air Brake endorsement and a clean driver’s abstract.
• Mine driving experience in an asset.
• Load securement and transportation knowledge.
• Must successfully pass BME driver’s evaluation, D&A and fit for duty pre-employment screening.
• CSTS and OSSA, BSO or CSO Certification.
• Minimum 3 years experience (including operations of up to 18 speed manuals).
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
