Warehouse/Rigger Labourer Jobs

Northern Strands is currently recruiting to fulfill the role of a Warehouse/Rigger Labourer for our Regina Branch. This position is primarily responsible to assist in loading, unloading, lifting, and moving material, as well as learning to build wire rope slings and maintaining inventory. The Warehouse/Rigger Labourer is an integral part of our team and contributes to the success of the company. This position reports directly to the Branch Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize items to fill customer requests from Order Desk and Outside Sales
• Assist with reeling rope for customer orders
• Operate forklift, hand truck, overhead crane or other equipment as necessary
• Assist with filling chain orders
• Restock wire rope on racking and pallet racks
• Interact courteously with customers, vendors and co-workers, displaying professional conduct
• Other related duties as assigned
• Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages, and reject damaged goods
• Assist with loading and unloading of goods from trucks or other conveyances
• Assemble containers and crates, record contents manually or in computer system, and pack goods to be shipped
• Complete regular inventory cycle counts
• Assist with general facilities maintenance
• Assist with building wire rope slings and small assemblies

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must possess:

• Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities
• Any safety-related training certificates would be considered an asset (i.e., Forklift)
• 2+ years experience would be preferred
• Grade 12 education or equivalent
• Valid driver's license
