Gillfor Distribution is seeking a Warehouse Worker / Forklift Operator to join our branch in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. As part of our Lumber Yard team at our Dartmouth Distribution Centre, you will work in a team environment reporting directly to our Shipping Supervisor. You will be responsible for efficiently and accurately assembling customer orders, serving customers in the yard, maintaining the presentation and organization of warehouse materials and loading customer trucks. This is a full-time position at our Dartmouth location.

Expectations

• Prepare, pick and pack customer orders as required in a timely, detail-oriented manner
• Serve customers as they enter the yard following proper process and protocols
• Compliance with all work safety rules and regulations
• Politeness and professionalism with all customers and truck drivers
• Loading and unloading of building materials in a safe and timely manner
• Load and unload building materials operating a forklift
• Periodic inventory counts (quarterly) and spot checks
• Assist in keeping a tidy and organized lumber yard and warehouse
• Assist in loading orders onto customer trucks

Ideal Attributes

• Flexibility with start and finish times
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds if necessary
• Minimum of two years lumber yard and/or warehouse experience is a definite asset
• High School Diploma
• Reliable and punctual
• Able to work in outdoor conditions
• Knowledge of the building materials industry is an asset
• Self-motivated and able to work with little to no supervision
• Forklift Certificate

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Compensation: Starting at $19/hr and up based on experience.
