As a Maintenance Worker, you will be responsible for day-to-day building maintenance

Schedule: Monday - Friday 9AM to 5PM

Duties & Responsibilities

• Respond to work order requests and supervisors' directions to perform troubleshooting, installation, repairs, replacements, and maintenance tasks.
• Repair and minor patching to floor surfaces.
• Complete minor building repairs and maintenance.
• Custodial duties as needed to maintain our building
• Keep machinery, equipment and tools clean and organized to ensure optimum working order.
• Adjust and maintain doors and door openers.
• Clean/organize maintenance-related areas to keep compliant with regulations.
• Effectively communicate and coordinate with internal and external project participants to ensure that all parties are well-informed and that work proceeds on schedule with minimal impact to University operations.
• Apply paint, varnish, and stain to all types of surfaces in order to protect and beautify surfaces using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Perform miscellaneous maintenance work such as snow removal, empty garbages, recycle material.

Essential Requirements

Some lifting is required. Willingness to assist in emergency after-hours repairs and maintenance as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to work on elevated surfaces.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Familiarity with maintenance best practices, including preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
• Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving mechanical issues.
• Able to work in extreme temperatures and noise levels.

• Work effectively and maintain good relations with all internal divisional departments for timely resolution to customer concerns and to support GFS culture
