Job Description
When our children are emotionally, socially and physically healthy, everyone in the community benefits. That’s why we’ve worked with community stakeholders to develop a variety of programs to meet the needs of children and families in Greater Vancouver. Having one or more caring adults in a child’s life can help prevent issues like bullying and crime, so that children can grow in to more resilient, more giving, and more compassionate adults. Join us in strengthening communities, one child at a time. All of our programs and services are offered to families free of charge, thanks to the support of volunteers, individual donors, local businesses, and foundations.

Have fun, de-stress, and feel like a kid again while making a positive and local impact for youth!

The In-School Mentoring Program provides supportive one-to-one mentoring relationships to children and youth during their school day. Mentoring relationships build a connection through friendship and play-based activities. Each session is child-led, based on the mentee’s interests, and may include exploring the playground, cooking, arts & crafts or board games in our very own 'Big & Little Activity Supply Bins.

The In-School Mentoring program requires a weekly visit of 1 hour for the duration of the school year. Matches do not meet over the summer break or during other school holidays.

Activities you and your Little Buddy can do together include

  • Hanging out on the playground
  • Arts & Crafts
  • Talking
  • Sports
  • Reading
  • Baking
