Job Description
Innovation Saskatchewan supports Saskatchewan’s research community and technology sector to create economic growth and diversity. As the central agency for the Government of Saskatchewan, Innovation Saskatchewan is responsible for implementing the province's innovation priorities and growing the technology sector.
Innovation Saskatchewan develops policies and programs and conducts activities that assist in the implementation of research & development, science, and technology for the province. This includes development and operation of Saskatchewan’s research and technology parks in Saskatoon and Regina.

The Opportunity
Reporting to the CEO of Innovation Saskatchewan, the Vice President, Research and Technology Park Operations will be responsible for collaborating with the Executive Team to develop strategic objectives and performance measures while providing operational leadership and overseeing the agency’s research and technology parks in Saskatoon and Regina.
Primary Responsibilities
As the Vice President, you will be responsible for:
  • Overseeing divisional strategy, including participation in collaborative long-term planning requirements, service benchmarking and overall profitability;
  • Leading tenant communication strategy from both an operational perspective and building awareness of corporate strategy in collaboration with the Communications and Marketing team.
  • Overseeing development and implementation of asset management plans for all major development assets to ensure the maximization of service potential and effective renewal planning and that all ecosystem stakeholders’ needs are understood and incorporated;
  • Ensuring leading-edge policies, procedures and best practices are in place and adhered to for areas of tenant relations, tenant safety, environmental compliance and procurement due diligence;
  • Cultivating and maintaining relationships with stakeholders in the innovation ecosystem and actively promoting and advancing the agency’s priorities and role in supporting economic growth in the province as a key part of the Government of Saskatchewan Growth Plan;
  • Exploring innovative opportunities to enhance tenant engagement, retention and service excellence;
  • Contributing to the development, approval and execution of annual capital, operating and administrative budgets and regularly monitoring expenditures and revenues to ensure profitability is maintained and supports success of the agency;
  • Identifying, planning and developing business cases to advance the development of new investments to buildings based on tenant and market demand;
  • Providing excellent leadership to the Research and Tech Park Operations division and sharing transparent communication and information that clearly conveys the agency’s vision;
What We Want From You
This opportunity is for experienced senior executives with a passion for the technology sector and a proven track record, ideally within the field of real estate and/or property management, Crown or government agency, and/or the commercial real estate industry. In addition, you will have:
  • Superior communication skills with an ability to develop shared understanding and commitment among stakeholders;
  • Proven ability to develop and sustain supportive internal working relationships built on a foundation of trust and psychological safety;
  • Strong business and political acumen and demonstrated application of project management principles and methodologies required to lead and execute successful projects and corporate strategy and priorities;
  • Demonstrated ability to act with the highest degree of integrity and business ethics, display good judgment, and be comfortable with ambiguity and decision-making;
  • A values-based leadership approach that builds productive partnerships with stakeholders and can lead a team through times of change and transition in a positive and constructive manner;
  • A post-secondary degree or Masters in Commerce or Business Administration; having a certified designation in property management/administration or commercial real estate management would be considered an asset.
