Ux Researcher Jobs

On behalf of our client, a well-established Canadian organization, Procom is seeking a UX Researcher with ideally some HFE experience to join their team. This position is based in Calgary, but can work remote majority of the time.

The chosen individual will have the responsibility of actively engaging in a collaborative project team that includes members from UX, Human Factors, and design groups. Working closely with software and firmware development teams, you will contribute to defining the problem domain and understanding the requirements of end users. It will be crucial for you to effectively advocate for and communicate these needs to the engineering and development community. To succeed in this role, you must showcase your proficiency in applying human factors principles, conducting research, and performing usability testing within a user-centered design approach. The ultimate goal is to create interfaces that are highly usable for our customers.

UX Researcher – Main Responsibilities

• Prepare recommendations and deliver presentations to influence and guide key stakeholders to better understand
• Participate in collaborative design workshops and planning meetings
• Guide research activities to define current customer pain points and map ideal future experiences
• Guide in-person interviews, and remote sessions
• Help define product requirements and understand user workflows to assist design and product teams in iterating through product discovery
• Development of Human Factors artefacts and design prototypes in a variety of mediums and fidelity as appropriate.
• Facilitate research through collection, analysis and producing insights to lead the team towards user outcomes

UX Researcher - Mandatory Skills

• Planning, and Executing User Analysis (personas, function analysis, task analysis etc.) and Usability Test events with the end user community.
• Communicating the user interface design both written, verbally and to advocate for a design within an integrated design team environment.
• Employing human factors principles, standards, and research to a design to ensure a more effective and usable user interface.
• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Human Factors Engineering, Industrial Design, Psychology Kinesiology, Computer Science, Systems Design Ergonomics, Cognitive studies or related discipline with course work in human factors engineering/ergonomics/human computer interaction.
• Able to work independently with strong problem-solving skills and creativity
• Collaborating with various stakeholders to plan research so we can better understand our users and reveal new opportunities.
• Experience in analysing the results and creating artefacts illustrating the end user needs. Once issues and improvements have been identified, working with the design teams by advocating for priorities of the required changes.
• 1+ years of experience working as a Human Factors Engineer (HFE) or User Experience (UX) Researcher.
