What role you will play in our team


If successful, you will be a key member of our diverse Trading Team, responsible for leading in-depth market analysis, while developing your expertise in natural gas, power, crude, and petroleum products trading, as well as being a key enabler to our broader trading activities. Your analytical acumen, deep understanding of commodity markets, and passion for the energy industry will be essential in contributing to our Team’s success.


What you will do


Market Analysis and Research:


  • Analyzing market data, economic indicators, geopolitical events, and regulatory developments to identify trading opportunities and assess risks
  • Preparing regular market reports, forecasts, and trading recommendations to assist the team in making informed decisions
  • Contributing to special projects, strategy studies, and market entries.
  • Developing and presenting ongoing/unique trade opportunities, connecting market fundamentals with proprietary insights, developing and applying advanced analytics in conjunction with supply and demand models.
  • Providing economic analysis for opportunity evaluation and helping the Team capture learnings from missed opportunities.
  • Monitoring global energy markets, keeping a close eye on factors influencing supply, demand, and price movements of natural gas, power crude oil, and petroleum products
  • Acting as power-user of strategic tools that support trading activities: Data systems, bespoke analytical tools, [Eikon, SAP]


Trading Support


  • Developing strong collaborative relationships with key trading partners, both domestically and globally, in order to drive trade execution and value creation
  • Developing and utilizing analytical tools and models to evaluate trading positions and optimize risk management strategies
  • Collaborating with senior traders to execute trading strategies and assisting in trade execution
  • Supporting trade records maintenance, ensuring accurate data entry, and supporting with trade settlement processes


Product Knowledge:


  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of the gas, power, crude, and petroleum products markets, including supply chain dynamics, industry trends, and pricing mechanisms
  • Stay up to date with industry news, advancements, and emerging technologies to adapt trading strategies effectively


Financial Analysis:


  • Conducting financial analysis to evaluate the profitability of potential trades and assess the impact on the company's overall portfolio
  • Working closely with Controllers teams to analyze P&L, tracking performance metrics, contributing to performance reporting and supporting annual plan development


Compliance and Risk Management:


  • Collaborating with the Risk Management team to identify and mitigate potential risks related to trading positions
  • Supporting derivatives trading and policy with analysis of new and existing usage of derivative instruments.
  • Ensuring all trading activities comply with regulatory guidelines and internal policies


About You


Skills and Qualifications


  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, Python, R-Studio, Bloomberg, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multifunctional, multicultural team
  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced environment


Preferred Qualifications/ Experience


  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data sets
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present findings concisely to internal stakeholders
  • A passion for the energy industry and a desire to keep up to date with the latest market trends and developments
  • Prior experience in commodity trading, energy markets, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory
