Technologist Solid Waste/ Landfill

Due to continuing growth, we are seeking a Technologist for the Earthworks and Site Servicing Group in our Mississauga or Waterloo, ON office.

Responsibilities:

Report Writing

• Responsible for creating graphs and figures for review by the Project Manager.
• Assisting Project Manager with proposal writing.
• Assist in the preparation of project related memorandums.
• Assist with the preparation of regulatory submissions on behalf of the clients.
• Responsible for creating draft reports to be reviewed by the Project Manager.

Project Management

• Assist in the coordination of technical resources and personnel including drafting staff, database technicians, chemistry staff, and engineering staff through project duration.
• Assist Project Managers with coordination of field activities including managing field personnel, analytical set up and working with subcontractors.
• Assist with special projects as needed.

Design and Construction

• Preparation of design drawings and project specifications
• Contractor and construction supervision
• Preparation of draft work plans, reports, and correspondences for client review
• Invoicing and budget preparation along with budget tracking

Field Work

• Responsible for construction and contract administration, including drilling, monitoring well installation, pipe installation, excavations and general construction activities.

Qualifications:

• Proficient use of MS Office is a requirement
• College diploma in Environmental or Civil Engineering Technology
• Hazwoper training is considered an asset.
• 7 Years of experience and interest in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and design of major earthworks.
• 7 Years of experience in solid waste management including preparation of drawings and specifications
• 7 years of experience with contractor and construction supervisor within solid waste/landfill environment
• Written and verbal communication skills are vital to this role to effectively express technical information to multiple audiences including subcontractors, field staff, clients, and colleagues.
• Self-starter, flexible, team player, willing and able to work on a wide variety of tasks
