Required Duties


The Teaching Assistant will assist the course instructor as follows:


  • Assist in the development of future problem sets or software exercises/projects based on the feedback from lab tutorials, etc.
  • Assist in dataset preparation and customization, as needed;
  • Review new assignments for clarity and step through new exercises in the computer lab verify new software/datasets are working and set up correctly;
  • Support grading of final projects that use OpenLCA and Ecoinvent
  • Address student questions related to the use of OpenLCA and Ecoinvent software tools;
  • Support computer lab tutorials / sessions specific to the software exercises;


Qualifications


Graduate engineering student with good knowledge of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), waterfootprint (ISO based) and carbon footprint. Knowledge of OpenLCA, Ecoinvent and other LCA programs and databases is an asset. Successful completion of the winter 2023 SEAD 520 course is an asset.


Teaching Assistants will be required to be on campus to perform their tasks in person. Teaching Assistants may be required to perform tasks suited to a remote/online teaching environment using a virtual learning platform [e.g., Zoom] and the McGill myCourses learning management system.
