We are searching for supportive, enthusiastic online teachers to assist our students in fulfilling their educational requirements. The online teacher is responsible for helping students learn and understand new concepts and complete assignments.
Duties include:
• helping students plan and set goals for the day,
• ensuring students remain on track with their online course work
• providing one on one support to students as they work through their online classes
• helping students to prepare for quizzes and exams
• planning and delivering specific Prime Athletic Academy course curriculum
To be successful as an online teacher, you should create a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment that is sensitive to students' learning styles. An outstanding online teacher will demonstrate an awareness of the environmental factors that influence students' progress in the course.
Responsibilities:
• Creating and presenting lessons that are congruent with students' educational needs.
• Encouraging participation within the classroom to promote the consolidation of learning content.
• Mediating conflict between students.
• Monitoring and reporting on students' progress.
• Reporting recurrent technical difficulties and other notable incidents to the appropriate member of staff.
• Respecting cultural differences among students and staff.
• Ensuring that all requisite equipment remains in excellent condition.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in education with relevant specialization, or a Masters degree in a specialty subject
• Proven teaching experience, ideally in a similar setting.
• Personal computer with a built-in or separate webcam.
• Quick and steady internet connection.
• A well-lit, distraction-free environment from which to conduct your lessons.
• Outstanding verbal, non-verbal, and written skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
This is a part-time contract position requiring availability M-F 1:00-5:00pm.
Our Academy is based in the Fraser Valley of British Columbia; however, most of the work will be remote.
