The purpose of the Supervisor, Event Operations is to assist in executing safe and fun events at Blue Mountain Resorts while ensuring the health and safety of all employees and guests. The Supervisor will work closely with multiple operating departments during planning and execution of events that include snowmaking, grooming, IT, marketing and more. Most of the Supervisor position will be focused on execution of events that include third party, sponsorship and in house grassroots events. Working closely with the Manager to continually create new ways to maintain a full schedule of events that align with the resort and departments strategic pillars.


The Supervisor will spend most of the time away from their desk around the resort to prepare event spaces alongside required operating departments. Communication is a key aspect of this role as the Supervisor will be in communication with all departments on resort to ensure services are prepared for successful events that create stories told time and time again.


Hourly Rate of $21.81

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?


  • Work directly with other departments to execute approved event concepts and drive business where possible
  • Assist with the creation and implementation of event plans, which includes site surveys, staff scheduling, site design and event build and strike, load in and load outs, venue management and clean up etc.
  • Oversee event staff and third-party staff at times to ensure staff and guest safety during build and strike when required
  • Provide input on new event ideas and designs
  • Create and co-ordinate event calendar with other resort business units/sponsors and external event schedules
  • With department manager work with event organizers leading up to and on event day to ensure standards are met.
  • Participate in risk management planning and risk mitigation during events including weather planning, third party venders working on site, event crisis plans, EMS/Fire route etc.


WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?


  • Strong skiing or snowboarding ability is required
  • Must have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook
  • Must have a valid G driver’s license
  • Previous experience with snowmobiles and other recreational vehicles is an asset
  • Completion of High School required.
  • Understanding of risk management, Occupational Health and Safety Act and Electrical Safety Authority Standards
