Job Description
Medical Lab Supervisor, MLT: Specimen
Immediate Opening!
As a supervisor of medical laboratory technologists specializing in specimen collection, your role would involve overseeing the day-to-day operations of the specimen collection department, ensuring that quality standards and safety protocols are being followed, and providing guidance and training to your team.
Some Of Your Key Responsibilities May Include
  • Additionally, you will need to stay up-to-date with the latest advances in laboratory technology and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring that all specimens are collected and processed efficiently and accurately, and that results are reported in a timely manner.
  • You should also be able to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment for your team, following established protocols for infection control and hazardous waste disposal.
  • Keeping up-to-date with advances in specimen collection technology and techniques, and implementing new procedures as appropriate to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Managing the scheduling and assignment of tasks for your team of medical laboratory technologists, MLTs.
  • To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in chemistry and medical laboratory technology, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the performance of your team, providing feedback and coaching as needed to ensure that quality standards are met.
Requirements
  • Medical Laboratory Technologist, MLT eligible for CMLTO registration (with current CSMLS registration); Must have relevant recent experience, knowledge, and technical skills in the appropriate field; Recent Specimen experience required; Previous team lead or supervisory experience preferred; 6 years laboratory experience or equivalent experience
