Job Description
Shoreline Fruit is the largest tart cherry producer in North America operating nearly 7000 acres of cherry orchards right here in Michigan, growing and processing over 40 million pounds of cherries each year. We are a grower owned company built from two families' stories filled with pride and hard work that continues to grow in its reach of customers here and around the globe. Working at our production facility, you will be joining the team that processes the finest cherry products and other dried fruits available anywhere in the world. We are dedicated to the continuous improvement of our products, processes, people, and in becoming a better employer every day.
Some call them supervisors, we call them Cell Leaders for a reason: They own their areas from stem to stern. They work collaboratively and cross functionally to help their teams and the business win. We have a current opening for a floating Cell Leader who covers an area when a team mate cell leader is absent or needs help, and works on projects when the cell leader needs are covered.
Day Shift: This position has a flexible schedule working Monday through Friday 6:45am to 4pm, unless covering for another cell leader, then 6:45am-7:00pm.
Salary and Benefits: We offer good pay, great benefits, and cool incentives
  • Two weeks paid-time-off accrual starts at hire date and can be used after 60 days of employment
  • 401K w/company matching available after 6 months
  • Health, Dental, and Vision insurances and Flexible Spending Accounts available after 60 days of employment

  • Voluntary overtime often available
Team Leader Primary Responsibilities
  • Ensure prompt start time at the beginning of shifts, breaks and lunches.
  • Assure your production area is set at the beginning of the shift with all necessary materials and tools for the team to enjoy production success, and ensure the production area is adequately stocked throughout the day keeping your equipment, cabinet items (scales, label guns, tape guns, clip boards, etc.) neat and organized.
  • Participate in daily pass down at the beginning and ending of the Shift with the Production Manager and the prior/on-coming shift Cell Leaders to receive and communicate information pertaining to production, personnel, training, events or other relevant items.
  • Work with the Production Audit Coordinator, Production Managers, and Team Members to review and resolve production tracking, reporting, and other paperwork issues in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Monitor your production area to ensure that all company policies and Safety, Quality and Sanitation policies and guidelines are being observed by your Team and others in your area.
  • Complete all required production data and necessary forms in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Problem solve and utilize proper resources to provide solutions to issues that arise.
  • Conduct a daily huddle with your Team Members at the beginning of the shift to review work assignments, review expectations for the upcoming shift, discuss issues or concerns, pass on other pertinent information and cover a daily safety or quality topic.
  • Maintain an organized and sanitary work area for your Team Members including: tables and work surfaces, racks, signs, floors, doors, windows, equipment surfaces, etc.
  • Direct, coach, and coordinate the activities of Team Members and maintain consistent product feed rates and equipment/process adjustments to ensure that established production rates, yields, quality standards, safety standards and product specifications are met.
Minimum Position Requirements
