Distribution Centre Supervisor

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Continuously work with all Team Members to optimize logistics, product placement to maximize efficiency.
• Organize outbound/inbound loads to ensure best use of resources.
• Assist with inventory cycle counts.
• Create daily schedule and duties for Team Members on corresponding shifts.
• Facilitate and identify safety and training needs and requirements for Team Members.
• Train Team Members as needed.

Picking, Staging, and Loading

• Organize daily pick sheets into their respective delivery runs to ensure timely turnaround of customer orders.
• Ensure that the tires pulled match the picking order by referencing tire size, ply rating, part number, and description to the pick sheet.
• Organize the following day’s customer requirements on the loading dock.
• Report any discrepancies to the Distribution Centre Manager or Inventory Specialist.
• Oversee loading of company and outside carrier trucks.

Unloading and locating

• Organize unloading and put away of all inbound freight.
• Receive product as necessary.

Preventative Maintenance

• Ensure proper propane storage is in effect and that all personal protective equipment is worn during the replacement/movement of any propane cylinders.
• Ensure electric forklift and high lifts are plugged into their respective chargers each night
• Ensure daily equipment checks are performed (i.e. Tire Machines, Forklifts etc.)

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and clean drivers abstract
• Vast knowledge of commercial tires, casings, and rims consider an asset
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Organized with a keen attention to detail and accuracy
• Passionate about customer service
• 3-5 years’ supervisory experience
• Mechanically inclined and familiar with fork truck mechanical operation
• Experienced high-lift operator with valid certificate
• Previous 1-2 experience in a distribution centre/logistical setting
• Personal Fall Protection Training
• Experienced in safe operation of forklift with valid operator certificate
• Strong understanding of financial and budgetary items
