(Summer Camp) On Call- Substitutes

The International School of Portland is hiring for Summer Camp!

We are looking for enthusiastic Seasonal on-call Substitutes to join our team. Our summer camp staff and faculty come from around the world and are passionate about making language learning fun through hands-on activities, songs, games, outdoor fun, and cultural connections. DATES 2023: On call between June 26-August 04, 2023

Substitutes may work in one, two, or all three sessions.

• Session 2 - July 10 - 21
• Session 3 - July 24 - August 4
• Session 1 - June 26 - July 7 (no camp on July 4th)

(All on-call substitutes must participate in training in May and/or June. When feasible, all trainings will be held virtually)

HOURS: 7:30am-4:00pm, Monday-Friday as needed

Pay Rate

$18 per hour

General Summary

In your capacity as Global Kids summer camp On-call Substitute you will follow the work schedule as outlined and discussed by the Summer Camp Director and perform those tasks and duties, including but not limited to planning and implementing curriculum, as related to

session themes; managing classroom behavior and creating a safe, welcoming, child-friendly environment; ensuring that

children are supervised 100% of the time they are at post camp; advocating and promoting the post camp; communicating

with parents, Camp Director, and other staff as well as working collegially with administrators and fellow teachers. You

agree to devote your full business time and best efforts to the performance of your duties and to the furtherance of the

School's interests.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate proficiency in English is required, and or any of the three target languages is preferred
• Support the mission and vision of The International School of Portland (https://intlschool.org/)
• Demonstrate enthusiasm, creativity, responsibility, and a passion for teaching young language learners
• Eligible to work in the USA
• At least 6 months experience working with children, preferably in a camp or school setting

Responsibilities

• Set up and use hand tools to remove burrs from machined parts.
• All other duties as assigned.
• Maintain tools and equipment as required.
• Visually inspect parts for burrs and imperfections.
• Deburr parts with all safety precautions in place.
• Read and interpret blue prints.

Experience

• 5+ years' deburring experience required.
• Previous jobbing shop experience preferred.
• Ability to determine the kinds of tools required for the job.
• Ability to perform microscopic deburring preferred.
• Previous military or aerospace experience preferred.
