ServiceNow Research carries out fundamental research to push the limits of what AI can do for enterprises. In turn, those learning are passed along to our engineering and product teams through our innovation pipeline. Here is a chance to be part of the Emerging Technologies Lab, a team that aims to investigate research breakthroughs in AI, validate that they are appropriate for use by ServiceNow then disseminate our learnings by equipping developers and scientists across the organization with new capabilities.

What you get to do in this role:

Research developers supercharge fundamental and applied research. They are experts at operationalizing AI innovations, and developing robust and reliable AI systems. They understand the practical constraints of our infrastructure and turn ideas into reality. To thrive in this role, you need to be able to analyze problems and requirements with a critical eye, identify and apply appropriate tools and techniques in a quickly changing tech space, and quickly validate your approaches and ideas. You will need a strong understanding of applied machine learning in the enterprise context and strike the right balance between building with speed and building for longevity. You can look forward to collaborating with with a team of like-minded Research Developers, and Applied and Fundamental Research Scientists to produce quality prototypes and experiments, demos and systems.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

• Experience with pytorch/tensorflow and transformers is a plus
• Knowledge of core AI/ML techniques and algorithms
• A minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent work experience.
• Expertise in Python or Java, OOP, Design Patterns, time and space-efficient algorithms
• Experience in starting projects from scratch, rapidly picking up new concepts and technologies, and identifying the correct tool for a given solution
• Experience with Docker, Linux, and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of unit testing, profiling, and code tuning
• Knowledge of modern AI/ML infrastructure and tooling, including triton and cloud infrastructure
• Experience building new products that leverage challenging high-performance algorithms
• Expertise in coding efficient, object-oriented, modularized and quality software
