Job Description
Our client, a local innovative solutions provider of microscopy sensors, systems, and automation solutions, is currently seeking a Software Engineer to join their team immediately on a permanent full-time basis.
You will be joining a multi-disciplined team of scientists, engineers, and technical staff who possess decades of industry knowledge and experience. This position will be working out of their office in Richmond Hill, Ontario.
Role And Responsibilities
  • Working in a cross-functional team to participate in product definition, formulate design specifications, design of software architecture, and contribute to the product development process
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software issues found in house or reported by customers related to company products to enhance the features and performance.
  • Contribute to the development of user guides and manuals for company products.
  • Develop software in a Windows environment for controlling company products
  • Engage with customers in collecting requirements and presenting technical solution to meet software performance requirements
  • Develop software to simplify and automate production of company products
Qualifications
  • Proficient with C/C++/C#, STL, OOD
  • 5+ years of experience designing and developing software in a Windows environment
  • Working knowledge of Visual Studio 2015 & 2019, National Instruments CVI 2015
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Working knowledge of Serial ports, TCP/IP, USB
  • Minimum B.Sc. in engineering discipline (Physics, Math, Computer Science, Electronics, etc.)
  • Independent self-starter
  • Working knowledge of Jira, Jenkins, Subversion
  • Working knowledge of COM, DirectX, MFC, Multithreading
  • Familiarity with Linux software development will be an asset
  • Good interpersonal skills and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with BCG Soft libraries will be an asset
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
