Job Description

Le Projet Genèse, un organisme communautaire, cherche à combler un poste permanent à temps plein (33 heures/semaine, 5 jours/semaine), dans son Centre de services individuels qui offre de l’information, références et la défense des droits sociaux dans le quartier multiethnique de Côte-des-Neiges.Assurances collectives, quatre semaines de vacances et plusieurs autres jours de congé additionnels payés, syndicat. Échelle salariale débutant à 25$/ heure.

Le Centre intervient dans les domaines des droits de locataires, et les programmes sociaux tels que l’aide sociale et les pensions de vieillesse.Le poste consiste à faire des suivis dans les dossiers individuels complexes, la formation et supervision des bénévoles et des étudiant.e.s, et la vérification des dossiers pour en assurer la qualité. Les taches peuvent aussi inclure donner des ateliers, la rédaction de matériaux d’éducation populaire, et du travail visant le changement de politiques and nos champs d’intervention. La position implique la collaboration avec organisateurs communautaires et autres organismes. Travail d’impact immédiat et étendu dans un organisme bien ancré dans le quartier.

·capacité à analyser et à retenir des informations pratiques et légales complexes

Project Genesis, a community organization, seeks to fill a permanent full-time position (5 days a week at 33 hrs./wk), for its information, referral and advocacy Individual Services Centre located in the culturally diverse Côte-des-Neiges neighborhood. Group insurance, union, four weeks of vacation and numerous paid holidays. Pay scale beginning at 25$/ hour.

The centre offers front-line services in the areas of tenants’ rights and social programs such as welfare and government pensions. The position involves ensuring the smooth functioning of the service in collaboration with other members of the team. It includes meeting with, and providing services to, individuals, following up on complex individual cases, training and supervising volunteers and student interns, and reviewing intervention files to ensure quality. The work may also include giving workshops, drafting community education materials, and doing policy change work in our areas of intervention, in collaboration with community organizers and other organizations and may. The organization is rooted in the neighbourhood and the work has immediate impact on the lives of the many service users.

Qualifications:

·very good oral and written French and English
