One of HubSpot’s biggest product areas, Reporting, is looking for an experienced researcher to join our UX Research team. The top priority of this team is to make our Reporting tool the #1 source of insights for front-office teams.


Reporting on a business’s metrics and performance is paramount to measuring any success for a company. In order to do this successfully, you need to know where your data is coming from and how to leverage it to answer tough business questions. As a UX researcher on the Reporting Product team, this will be your main focus - delivering insights and influencing team members so that they gain a deep, human understanding of what people need to be able to answer their most important and pressing business questions. As a research leader in this space, you will bring these experiences to life and partner with our product teams to ensure our solutions are both good for humans and also for HubSpot.


You’ll be diving deep into the role of Analytics and Reporting in our customer’s day-to-day by understanding how they intend on reporting, thinking through data analytics, and sharing reports across their business. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strategic, resourceful and energetic team player who wants to architect research strategy and help build a user-centric culture for an important business unit.


Embedded within HubSpot’s product organization, you will partner with individual contributors and leadership from our Design, Product Management, Analytics, and Engineering teams to uncover deep insights about our users' behaviors and attitudes. You will weave results into comprehensive customer stories with actionable recommendations that influence key decisions and product direction across the company. You'll think big about new areas, test concepts as they are being developed, and evaluate products once they've rolled out.


In This Role You’ll Get To


  • Use your findings to influence product and go-to-market roadmaps and teams to measure and improve HubSpot and customer user value, usability, satisfaction, and delight
  • Share research findings with senior leadership and executives
  • Strategize and socialize the learning agenda, research plan, and approach
  • Collaborate with other UX researchers, product managers, product designers, and engineers to help define and refine the strategic direction of go-to-market and revenue systems and processes, as well as the longer-term strategy for our upmarket customers
  • Work with analysts and product experts to triangulate data from multiple sources
  • Work on complex problems and have direct impact and influence on product and go-to-market systems
  • Conduct research, synthesize data, and report findings to stakeholders
  • Evangelize the UX research discipline and the UX Research team throughout HubSpot

  • Understands how to prioritize research asks based on business and product impact
  • Broad toolset of research techniques
  • The desire to dig deep into the data and are energized by unstructured discovery or exploratory research
  • Experience with SaaS Reporting products


Bonus Skills


  • Experience with Indi Young’s Mental Models and Thinking Styles methodologies
  • Experience with mixed-method research methodologies
  • Experience running design thinking workshops
