Here's how a Senior Superintendent for our Calgary office contributes to our team:
Responsibilities

• Anticipates constructability issues and troubleshoots solutions in the construction plans.
• Develops, implements, and maintains PCL safety program, including creating and influencing jobsite safety culture through mentorship and modeling.
• Proactively identifies, manages, and resolves potential problems, work conflicts or schedule challenges. Works with project team to anticipate and resolve project issues.
• Visualizes and conveys vision of an entire project, driving the project schedule’s critical path.
• Supervises, directs, coaches, trains and mentors the project team and superintendents on the same site or multiple sites.
• Ensures expectations are effectively communicated to own forces and trade partners pertaining to work performance, productivity, quality and safety requirements.
• Leads and oversees onsite construction activities; oversees and ensures project is executed effectively, safely and within budget.
• Provides leadership in field operations, project pursuits and various industry associations.

Qualifications

• Experience with mentoring others on construction scheduling and planning and monitoring forecast resources at a high level.
• Expert understanding of productivity rates and cost management.
• Journeyperson certificate or postsecondary diploma / degree in a construction-related discipline.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in field supervision preferred.
• Thorough understanding of contract language with superior ability to identify and mitigate risks and identify and leverage opportunities.
• Experience supervising multiple small/mid-size projects simultaneously or one large project over $100 million.
• Gold seal certification preferred.
• Expert knowledge of and experience in the construction industry and company operations, including building materials, construction specifications, and methods and procedures.
• Expert knowledge of and application of safety and environmental principles, procedures and legislation and demonstrated experience in implementing a strong safety culture.
• Demonstrated conflict-resolution skills, problem-solving abilities and professional judgment.
