Are you an experienced Software Project Manager looking to join an outstanding R&D team and immediately make a difference? Do you want to play a meaningful role in driving software product development efforts spanning SCIEX’s software platform, vertical applications, and cloud applications? Looking for challenges such as integrating software with complex hardware projects developing our Mass Spectrometer instruments and peripherals? Then SCIEX may be an opportunity for you!


The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading a development team to meet defined goals within a structured project management environment.


This position is part of the Research and Development Department and will be located in Concord, Ontario as a hybrid role.


In this role, you will have the opportunity to:


  • Lead the planning, controlling and coordination of a software project team to deliver and meet defined goals using Agile development practices.
  • Produce and deliver project-related communication such as status reports, visual management and progress metrics. Lead and measure the team's performance of project tasks.
  • Facilitate planning activities with key achievements, supervise progress against plans, and resolve appropriate corrective action.
  • Empower teams to collaborate, communicate, and deliver on commitments. This includes driving ownership and accountability to the team.
  • Participate in defining and rolling out Project Management standard methodologies and tools and evangelizing continuous improvement.
  • Resolve project needs of resources/skills and equipment and ensure projects are delivered within the approved schedule, scope, and budget.


The essential requirements of the job include:


  • Experience leading large software teams (10-20 people) and multiple simultaneous projects
  • Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, SharePoint or other resource management and tracking tools
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • PMP, ACP, and/or SCRUM Master certification
  • Prefer 7+ years of software project management experience; including experience with both Agile and Waterfall software development environments is required.


It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:


  • Scaled Agile Methodology
  • Life sciences background
