Position Summary
This role is Hybrid (Office/Home and Client site) Ottawa region.
In support of a recently awarded contract , the Senior Software Product and Innovation Engineer will be responsible for leading the technical vision for DSEF products and capabilities; developing technical architectures, frameworks and strategies to meet DSEF system requirements; and analyzing, design and implement DSEF produced systems and architectures.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Product and Innovation Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:

• Ensuring the integration of all aspects of DSEF system and solutions.
• Recommending options for resolving DSEF system and design issues.
• Designing, developing and assessing technical solutions to address complex DSEF system issues.
• Performing any other related work as required.
• Producing, documenting and managing system architectural designs and guidance, with contributions from across all engineering and support disciplines, to achieve comprehensive DSEF system implementation.
• Updating and evolving the DSEF products System Breakdown Structures.
• Define and document interfaces within DSEF sub-systems, to external systems and between new and existing systems.
• Analyzing and evaluate alternative technology solutions to meet DSEF system problems.

Key Requirements
Minimum of 15 years of demonstrated experience as Software Architect, having experience with the majority of the following:

• Design, develop and assess technical solutions to address complex product issues.
• Demonstrated experience in the field of Firepower, ISR, C4ISR, or Modelling and Simulation application development.
• Data architecture development, definition, framework and implementation for software products & information systems.
• Recommend options for resolving software or product system and design issues.
• Analyze, design and implement software produced systems and architectures.
• Software Integration: hardware and software, (COTS and/or custom developed) components into new or existing systems.
• Lead the technical vision for software products and capabilities.
• Minimum of 8 years of demonstrated experience in the preparation of technical concept documents, system specifications, and technical proposals in the field of Information Technology / Information management or engineering.
• Software life-cycle management.
• Develop technical architectures, frameworks and strategies to meet software or system requirements.
• Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience as a Software Architect on Military Command and Control Software Information Products.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal – with the ability to communicate information technology frameworks/strategies to management and technical staff, as well as communicating system-engineering direction for projects or systems.
• Providing advice, guidance and recommendations on technical issues to support the decision-making of senior management.
• Proven problem solving and analytic skills with a track record of successful outcomes
• Capable of developing strong relationships across the business through excellent customer service.
• Recognized for ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organisation and externally with customers.
• Leading multidisciplinary teams in the development of software applications, frameworks or strategies.
• Performing strategic, operational or tactical planning for projects or systems to meet corporate strategy.
• Strong business acumen and ability to identify and address issues within a complex business environment.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in software, computer, systems, electrical, or a suitable engineering or technical field required to support Land C4ISR.
