Team Overview

eBay’s Buyer Experience team is looking for a motivated Senior Software Engineer, Fullstack with strong backend development skills and some frontend engineering experience to work on key parts of eBay like Home page/Vertical Landing Pages/Events & Deals Platform. You’ll be working with a world class team of engineers, designers, product managers, and analysts to create great products that make a difference on one of the world’s most trafficked and loved websites. Our technology stack includes Node.JS front end app, Java/Scala/GraphQL based back-end with native iOS and Android applications.

Team Role

The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of backend development experience working with high velocity teams. We only want to work with the best, and we’d love for you to join us.

Responsibilities

• Develop the methodology and systems to modernize integrations for home page with key partners
• Produce high quality and well-documented code
• Build core components of Home page/authoring tools such as to support new features
• Developing and implementing the next generation of the Home page/VLP, Events & Deals platform
• Produce high quality software designs to support long-term maintainability and extensibility

Requirements

• Experience building and consuming horizontally scalable RESTful API’s
• Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years (or) a MS in Computer Science and 5+ years of software design and relevant experience
• Experience with scrum or other agile software development methodology
• Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Flink, and Kafka is a plus
• Ability to write reusable and maintainable code
• Exceptional programming skills in Java, Scala, Java Script
• Experience working with Spring, Node.js, CSS3 & HTML
