We are hiring a Senior Property Accountant for one of our affiliated companies, Condor Properties Ltd.

Condor’s principals have over 40 years of experience in land development. Our core assets consist of high-quality industrial, office, medical and retail properties comprising over 6.7 million square feet, all strategically located throughout the GTA and surrounding areas.


We have an outstanding opportunity for a Senior Property Accountant to join our Accounting Team under the Property Management division. The successful candidate requires real estate experience and is familiar with reporting of real estate assets. The individual will be a self-starter and genuinely curious; that enjoys working in a fast-paced environment; can multi-task, efficiently prioritize work under timelines with a high sense of ownership in their work; and has a strong foundation in accounting and reporting. This role reports directly to the Controller.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit quarterly survey of financial statements required by Statistic Canada
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Management
  • Verify code and ensure processing of accounts payable, once authorized by property manager and review payments for accuracy before submitting to Management for signatures
  • Prepare intercompany billings for commission, Management Fees and Maintenance Wages
  • Investigate and validate recovery rules in tenant leases
  • Reconciliation of bank statements, mortgages, loans and monthly journal entries
  • Prepare and review annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
  • Support property management personnel in financial accounting matters
  • Prepare and process Tenant CAM/TAX recovery reconciliations annually
  • Ensure correct chargeback such as utilities to tenants
  • Prepare and submit annual MPAC financial reporting requirement, vacancy rebates
  • Prepare audited and unaudited financial statements for internal and external users
  • Prepare and report monthly HST
  • Prepare various accounting reports and analysis as requested
  • Prepare year-end audit working papers and liaison with auditors


Education, Experience, and Key Competencies

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • CPA not required but preferred, with 3+ years of relevant experience in the industry
  • Proficient in Yardi Voyager 7S financial reporting
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
