ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Full Stack Software Developer with a strong specialization in front-end web development to join our talented team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing innovative software solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including back-end developers, designers, and product managers, to create seamless and user-friendly applications. Your expertise in front-end technologies and frameworks will be essential in driving the development process and ensuring the highest standards of quality and performance.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and practices.
• Maintain a legacy Ruby on Rails web application, with an eye on modernization.
• Work closely with back-end developers to integrate front-end components with server-side logic and APIs.
• Be a team player to your developer cohort, reviewing code, pair programming, and providing constructive feedback.
• Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in front-end development and make recommendations for technology adoption.
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging to identify and resolve defects and performance issues.
• Implement best practices and standards for front-end development to ensure code quality, performance, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with designers to transform wireframes and mockups into visually appealing and intuitive user interfaces.
• Develop, test, and deploy scalable and responsive front-end applications using modern web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., SolidJS, React).

Qualifications

• Experience consuming APIs and working with query languages like GraphQL.
• Experience with relational database management systems such as PostgreSQL.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, can explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Strong understanding of responsive web design principles and mobile-first development.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development methodologies.
• Proven experience (5+ years) as a Full Stack Software Developer, with a focus on front-end development.
• Enjoys working in an asynchronous culture and creating documentation that supports our remote workplace.
• Strong proficiency in front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
• Experience with back-end technologies and frameworks such as Node.js and Ruby on Rails.

Preferred Requirements:

• 3+ years’ experience developing applications with Ruby on Rails.
• Hands-on design experience including but not limited to UI and UX Design.
• 3+ years’ experience developing applications with React.
• Experience building and/or implementing design systems or UI component libraries.
• A strong code architecture and organizational efficiency mindset.
• Experience developing applications using Functional Programming techniques.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and related delivery automation systems, including feature flags, release vs. deployment, A/B testing.
• 1+ years’ experience developing applications with SolidJS.
