Edmonton Zone Continuing Care provides services through five main program areas: Home Living, Supportive Living, Facility Living, Transition Services and Palliative Care. The Edmonton Zone Facility and Supportive Living (FSL) is a Program which provides an integrated system of health and personal support services to clients based on assessed need. FSL has an immediate opening for a Quality Lead within the Quality and Practice Development portfolio. This position aligns with best practice and clients' safety, and focuses on developing, analyzing, and promoting quality improvements and health outcomes. Reporting to the Program Manager for Quality and Practice Development, the Quality Lead works to develop, coordinate, and facilitate various quality improvement initiatives at the zone, program, and site level. This position is responsible for influencing change through collaboration and consultation with internal and external stakeholders leading to excellence in quality and person-centred care.


Description:


As outlined by zone and program priorities, the Quality Lead, leads the development and evaluation of quality improvement initiatives through supporting knowledge transition and change management in FSL and its many stakeholders. The Lead analyzes site-based and program-wide practice issues, researches and uses evidence-based data to develop practical quality improvement recommendations for the zone and stakeholder such as Contracted Service Providers with the goal of enhancing client health outcomes, quality of care and quality of life. The Quality Lead also assesses current zone operational resources and practices, develops applicable quality improvement frameworks, recommends ways to influence change, and continuously evaluates its effectiveness through interaction and collaboration with multiple stakeholders. This position is responsible for supporting the integration of quality improvement activities to promote effective and efficient use of resources and is integral in aligning quality initiatives with the FSL quality strategic direction and plan. The Lead is responsible for carrying out quality improvement projects from start to finish, which will include consulting key stakeholders, development of processes and documents, and be responsible for the rollout using change management philosophy. A high degree of independence to plan, lead, coordinate and evaluate quality improvement, service improvement, client safety initiatives and improved client health outcomes in FSL is necessary to be successful in this role.

Required Qualifications:


Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare field. Active registration and practice permit from appropriate College. Minimum of 5 years of recent diverse (acute / community) clinical and/or managerial healthcare experience. Must have experience in project management, process improvement, change management and evaluation tools. Strong experience in facilitating change utilizing change management methodology. Experience in research, monitor, and analyze data for use in decision-making and recommendations. Strong experience and skills in group facilitation techniques. Excellent leadership, organizational, and team building skills. Strong communication skills to effectively communicate both orally and in writing to interact and influence those they must collaborate with.


Additional Required Qualifications:


Ability to translate quality issues, data outcomes, legislation, policies, etc. into understandable and practical recommendations. Proficient at recommending strategies to improve practice, streamline program activities, and implement change management. Ability to organize data, assess client care services, and standards and regulations within the Continuing Care healthcare setting to improve patient outcomes. Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships. Flexibility and the ability to adjust to changing environments, expectations and competing priorities. Proficiency with computer skills in Microsoft Office suite, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; Visio experience. Vehicle for business use required possession of a valid driver's license, and access to a motor vehicle in good repair for work-related travel is required.


Preferred Qualifications:


Master’s degree in clinical field, business, or healthcare administration is preferred but relevant experience will be considered. Community Case Management experience. Recent community related nursing experience (obtained within the last 5 years). Quality Improvement experience related to quality of patient care and safety. Connections and understanding of community services, resources, and supports. PROSCI and AIW Greenbelt certification. Experience in Meditech, Netcare, and/or Connect Care.
