We are looking for an experienced Safety Advisor to join our team in St. John's, NL. Under the direction of the Safety Manager, the Safety Advisor will assist with ensuring compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations in NL. As an active and engaged participant in the field, the Safety Advisor will perform an array of safety and administrative tasks across various job sites for rcs in the St. John ' s area.
Work hours may offer flexibility, depending on project site requirements.
Responsibilities

• Conduct rcs hazard assessments
• Implement corrective actions on site when needed
• Conduct Toolbox Talks as requested
• Conduct and submit weekly site reports to H&S Manager
• Provide administrative assistance with documentation on site, including but not limited to collecting hazard assessments, pre-use inspections and verifying training documentation for sub-contractors
• Complete incident investigations when necessary
• Inform H&S Manager of major safety violations on site or potential critical tasks
• Attend pre-job start-up meetings and facilitate safety requirements
• Conduct Safety Orientation and complete necessary documentation
• Coordinate safety training identified for NL employees
• Management of tool and training inventory
• Perform job site safety inspections
• Respond to incidents and complete and/or collect necessary paperwork

The ideal candidate is passionate about upholding safety standards, but is also a team player who is confident and identifies opportunities for educating staff and trades while promoting positive relations to ensure everyone works together toward a common goal.
Some other key attributes we are looking for are strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task under tight deadlines, while maintaining detailed, accurate safety records. You ideally have at least two years previous experience in a similar role in commercial construction, which is further supported with an OHS qualification. In addition, you consider yourself and Microsoft Office applications best friends.
A valid driver's license is essential for travel between the office and various job sites.
