We are pleased to be partnering with C-FR Technologies with the recruitment of two roles: Reliability Engineer, Pipeline Integrity as well as Test/project Engineer, Drilling & Completions



Reliability Engineer, Pipeline Integrity

C-FER Technologies Inc. (“C-FER”) vision is to have global impact in an evolving energy industry. Its mandate is to advance safety, efficiency and environmental performance in partnership with the energy industry. Additionally, C-FER is committed to playing a major role in reducing the carbon footprint of the global energy industry. Specific examples of this commitment include projects in the areas of geothermal energy, low carbon hydrogen production and distribution, and carbon capture and storage.


C-FER is a not-for-profit, Board governed, fully-owned subsidiary of Alberta Innovates. C-FER aims to be self-sustaining, with enough profitability to enable ongoing investment, development and optimization of its key assets; its people and its testing facilities. C-FER employs 80 people and offers a broad range of engineering services, that primarily support the evolving energy industry, including engineering assessments and equipment qualification testing. It has two world-class large-scale laboratory testing facilities in Edmonton, Alberta that can simulate almost any operating environment.


As the successful candidate, you will have experience in relevant technical areas, which may include risk and reliability analysis, statistical and data analysis, design and integrity management of pipelines, structural analysis, and numerical modelling. You have a professional engineering designation with over three years of experience working in the area of energy pipelines and pipeline infrastructure (experience in risk assessment and integrity management of pipelines would be an asset). You will also demonstrate a working knowledge of applicable industry standards as well as excellent verbal/communication skills.


Your primary role is to identify industry needs, communicate with clients, conceive feasible solutions to technical problems, develop proposals, manage projects, and mentor, oversee and stamp the work of junior engineers-in- training.

Test Engineer, Drilling & Completions

C-FER TECHNOLOGIES

The Test Engineer will be a member of a multidisciplinary Drilling and Completions team which is responsible for applied research, consulting, and testing projects spanning testing of sub-surface oil and gas products to materials evaluation in hazardous environments.


As the successful candidate you will be skilled and experienced in mechanical test technology, methods and processes. You have a professional engineering designation with over three years of experience working in the mechanical, materials and/or product testing (experience in the design and analysis of testing under combined or complex loading and extreme environmental conditions would be an asset. You will also demonstrate a working knowledge of applicable industry standards as well as excellent verbal/communication skills.
