Alive Counselling consists of a team of therapists offering quality mental health care to those throughout Kelowna and across British Columbia through In- Person, Walk and Talk Therapy, and Online Counselling. We have a beautiful and newly renovated 5 office clinic in Kelowna. Alive Counselling is a great team environment and most recently placed in the Top 3 in three categories for Best of Kelowna 2023 including Clinical Counsellors, Therapist, and Psychology Clinic.

We are looking to hire ONE to TWO Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC) or RSW. In Person preferred with hybrid/ virtual options. All applicants must hold a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology or equivalent and be in good-standing with the BCACC (no exceptions). The successful applicant will be organized, professional, and able to work seeing clients of varying ages with varying issues (Barb does offer supervision, team meetings, and case consultations). Our clinic offers individual, couples, family, and group therapy, however, the applicant does not have to offer all of these and may choose to only offer one such as individual therapy. Alive Counselling serves a variety of presenting issues, but we want to find the best fit for you and your clients to best serve you as a clinician and of course our clients. We mainly work in anxiety, stress, depression, identity, self esteem, trauma, EMDR, couples counselling, postpartum and maternal mental health care, sports performance, grief & loss, and more. We love to help people get "unstuck" and come more alive in their lives. As therapists, we each offer different specialties and approaches, so it is a diverse team to learn from. As a clinical supervisor with Third Space Charity and the University of British Columbia, there is leadership potential to be involved in many events as part of our mental health charity partnership in the community including training by guest experts in Equine Therapy, Couples Therapy, Play Therapy, and more.

Experience is preferred, but it is not a requirement. New graduates are welcome to apply. Barb offers individual or small group supervision to pour into your growth and development as a therapist. Team meetings, trainings, and supervision is done monthly, so the applicant will feel supported by the team as they grow as a counsellor. Our clinic is a welcome environment and fosters community, so there are many opportunities for debriefings and connecting as well. This position is as an Independent Contractor, so the successful applicant can make their own schedule of online counselling, Walk and Talk therapy, and flexible shared office space that is fully furnished. There is no set minimum number of hours per week, but most of our counsellors work approximately 20 hours per week and their availability is determined in the hiring process.

Industry standard split of 70% to the Counsellor (you) and 30% to Alive Counselling
