Job Description
Are you looking to be part of a growing Winning Championship Race Car Team & Specialized Automotive Company?
TWOth Autosport Inc. is looking to bring on additional Race Car Technicians to join our team! These full-time roles will require working weekdays and weekends that correspond to the 2023 Racing Schedule, as well as off-site work at various race events to support the cars and work with all team members.
The TWOth Autosport team is dynamic! We are looking for team members who are also passionate, energetic, organized, not afraid of failure and committment. The chosen candidates will have exceptional skills, an eye for detail, ability to track and document work performed (e.g., detailed online time sheets) and yearns to work in a fast-paced (pun intended) and customer-focused environment. The chosen candidates are expected to commit to full-time work for the 2023 Racing Season which will commence ASAP.
At the shop, technicians will perform timely general maintenance on cars, alignments, setup adjustments, rebuilds of components, and perform repairs due to damages while accurately documenting and tracking all work performed.
At Race Events, technicians will work with the Team Manager and Race Engineer on changes and adjustments that are required on the cars, cleanliness of the cars, and perform any and all other work that is necessary to ensure the Race Cars perform at their highest level while accurately documenting and tracking all work performed.
Regular daily work will take place at the TWOth Autosport home base shop located at Calabogie Motorsports Park (462 Wilson Farm Road, Calabogie, ON K0J 1H0), with Race Events taking place across Ontario, Quebec, and in the United States.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
• Plan and schedule the workload according to the upcoming and scheduled track time and Race Events, in coordination with the Shop Coordinator (and/or Team Manager & Principals)
• Provide excellent client experience by ensuring an ongoing commitment to the needs of the Race Cars and Clients
• Complete checklists, timesheets and document work timely executed during regular shop work, and before/after each Race Event with provided software (training will be provided)
• Full inspection and service of Race Cars
• Plan and organize daily tasks, as well as tracking all work and maximize efficiency by entering notes and time in the Shop’s software system
• Ability to problem solve and brainstorm creative solutions (including coming prepared to meetings with research, ideas and know how)
• Work on tight timelines
• Safety conscious – always a priority and always promoted – Safety First!
• Ability to perform and complete work from memory and experience, rather than a handbook
• Ability and understanding to use all types of mechanical tools and power tools
• Always maintain a clean and organized (not messy) workspace
• Self starting and able to work with little supervision
• Present self in an appropriate and the utmost of professionalism
• Punctual and dependable (arrive in sufficient time to be able to start working at the specified time)
• Adhere to a professional dress code (presentable = neat & polished appearance)
Requirements:
• Certificate and/or Diploma from a technical school preferred
• 5+ years experience in a similar position or role
• Valid driver’s licence and clean driving record
• Valid passport for travel
• Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time and can lift 50 lbs
• Work well in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills and communication skills (including accurately documenting work & time performed)
• COVID-19 vaccinated as required by Canadian and US legislation for both work and travel
• Racing experience – another bonus!
Compensation:
• Pay rate: $20-$30 per hour based on experience
