Job Description

Cropac Equipment Inc. is looking for a Purchasing Specialist to join the team at the Oakville corporate office.


Salary: $72,000-75,000 dependant on experience

Hours: Full time day shift (Monday through Friday)


JOB SUMMARY:

The Purchasing Specialist will be responsible for sourcing equipment, goods and services and managing vendors. The successful candidate will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, search for better deals, and find more profitable suppliers.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Locate vendors of materials, equipment and supplies and interview them in order to determine product availability and terms of sales.
  • Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
  • Administer on-line purchasing system.
  • Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
  • Prepare reports regarding market conditions and merchandise costs.
  • Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Resourceful, energetic, and strong work ethic.
  • Certified Professional Purchaser (C.P.P.) designation or registration in the educational program of the Purchasing Management Association of Canada would be an asset.
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, organization, prioritization, and execution skills.
  • Advanced level Excel skills.
  • High attention to detail & accuracy.
  • Acts with integrity.
  • Accomplished skills in negotiation and networking.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
  • Working experience in the Heavy-Duty Equipment industry preferred.
  • 5-7 years progressive experience in a purchasing role.
