- Strong counseling skills and experience including sound theoretical understanding and application of various evidenced-based clinical interventions.
- Those individuals eligible for Provisional licensure status with the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists may be considered.
- Professional liability insurance coverage is required.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to form strong relationships and professional working alliances.
- Excellent ability to uphold file standards, write succinct and effective reports.
- Fully registered with the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists or Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers.
- Knowledge and application of professional ethics related to clinical counseling.
- Knowledge and skills working with culturally diverse clients.
- Advocate for the mental health needs of Indigenous populations, working closely with community organizations and stakeholders.
- Provide culturally relevant psychoeducation to clients and their families, promoting mental health awareness and resilience.
- Facilitate individual, couples, family, and group therapy sessions, incorporating Indigenous healing practices and traditional knowledge, as applicable.
- Develop and implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to client needs.
- Collaborate with other mental health professionals, such as psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors, to coordinate comprehensive care for clients.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation in compliance with legal and ethical guidelines.
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities, supervision, and team meetings to enhance knowledge and skills in counseling and in Indigenous mental health.
