We are a space startup company based in Toronto seeking a highly motivated, skilled, and experienced propulsion engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for helping us research, design, and develop our first prototypes of spacecraft. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the space exploration industry and be part of a team that aims to make a significant impact on humanity's future in space.
Responsibilities:
- Propulsion System Design: Work closely with the engineering team to conceptualize, design, and analyze propulsion systems for our space vehicles. Collaborate in the development of efficient and innovative propulsion technologies.
- Simulation and Analysis: Utilize advanced simulation tools to model and analyze the performance of propulsion systems under various conditions. Provide valuable insights to improve efficiency and optimize system performance.
- Prototyping and Testing: Assist in the fabrication and testing of prototype propulsion components and systems. Collaborate with the testing team to collect data and validate the functionality and safety of propulsion systems.
- Research and Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in propulsion technologies and space industry trends. Contribute to research efforts and propose novel ideas to enhance our space propulsion capabilities.
- Collaborative Innovation: Work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, sharing ideas, expertise, and knowledge to drive the success of the team and the company's mission.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of propulsion system designs, test results, and any modifications made throughout the development process.
Qualifications:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Candidates pursuing their degree in the specified fields will also be considered.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in relevant engineering software, such as MATLAB, SolidWorks, ANSYS, or similar tools for propulsion system analysis and design.
- Hands-on Experience: Previous experience in propulsion system design or rocketry; related projects are a plus. Practical experience with fabrication, testing, and prototyping is desirable.
- Team Player: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. We value collaboration and the ability to share knowledge and ideas openly.
- Innovative Mindset: A creative and problem-solving mindset with a drive to explore unconventional ideas and approaches.
