Senior Specialist Cyber Defense AKA Detection Engineer/Cyber Architect

This is a FTP role within a public sector entity. It offers complex big enterprise experience in a growing and formative environment as well as security, competitive salary, amazing benefits and a defined benefits pension plan.

This is a very interesting role and a big challenge (for us) as it's unlikely someone exists who has all the required pieces. But the hiring manager is open to someone who has some of the pieces combined with the passion, interest and curiosity about the remainder.

Your role will be to provide subject matter expertise, strategic advice, senior level guidance and in essence translate incidents and intelligence escalation into policies and create detection / prevention rules across tools including things such as: Firewall, Proxy, Network Detection Tools, End-point Detection Tools, Email Security Gateway, Mobile Device Management, End-point Management Tools, SIEM and SIEM like tools MS Defender, NAC, VPNs, IAM/PAM tools. You will have the ability to read into intelligence or incidents and identify new threat tactics and techniques that need to detected across these tools.

This position has a base salary of $131K + benefits/vacation/pension.
