Project Manager (Pressure Vessels)

Reporting directly to the Director of Contracts, the Project Manager is the primary contact for clients in all matters that are commercial, technical, or have to do with scheduling for specific jobs assigned to them.

Responsibilities

• Primary Customer liaison.
• Determines the cost impact of changes to the scope requested by the Customer and communicates these impacts to stakeholders including Accounting, Engineering, and Scheduling Departments.
• Finalizes Project Team and holds Project meetings as necessary.
• Coordinates “Field Work” required for warranty purposes, remedial work, or NCR corrections required at destination.
• Coordinates the Project Team and holds Project meetings as necessary.
• Generates work change orders to recover costs resulting from Customer requested changes to scope and issues these Change Orders to the Customer for acceptance.
• Generates internal job adjustment forms resulting from Customer changes to scope.
• Addresses overages in Project Financials and implements recovery when necessary.
• Reviews Customer Purchase Orders and revisions as a participant in the PO Squad Check process for Commercial/Contractual requirements.
• Updates progress billing for Accounts Receivable.
• Manages the project execution plan (Schedule & Scope of Work list) through completion.
• Promotes and monitors Company Mission, Vision, and Safety initiatives.
• Coordinates project postmortem at job completion as required.
• Provides internal reporting to various departments and external reporting to the Customer.
• Negotiates contractual commitments to Post Award as necessary regarding; cost (disagreements between quotation and PO, change to scope, etc.) delivery, contractual terms and conditions, resolution of Accounts Receivable issues, and Commercial closure before Project Completion/Ship releases.
• Initiates preparation of “Ship Loose” items list with Engineering and Drafting Departments and enters resulting information into Encompix. Issues copy of Ship Loose List in Excel format to warehouse personnel and Customer.
• Administers and maintains “Prolog” and adds new projects into the cue for use by Accounting, Engineering, and others as required. Also adds/deletes users as necessary.

Qualifications

• Familiar with computers and software (design, database, and word processing).
• Excellent customer service/relation skills.
• Familiar with Engineering, Purchasing, and Shop processes.
• 3-5 years of Project management experience of Static equipment an asset.
• Familiar with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes.
• Strong communication skills and organizational ability.
• Familiar with Project Scheduling processes and practices.
