- Ensure all project sites, through our prime contractors, maintain proper safe working conditions
- Manage and create project plans for assigned projects from design and concept stages through to construction and closeout, and finally decommissioning
- Evaluate and document project lessons learned, and feedback captured, creating future action plans as needed
- Conduct thorough drawing markups of all issued sets, with the goal of reducing on-site change orders and finding construction efficiencies
- Solve complex project challenges ranging from team accommodations through to construction detailing, dispute resolutions and specialized banking equipment/practices
- Manage project budgets and change order tracking, constantly seeking value creation and cost mitigation
- Coordinate and manage the needs of multiple internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery
- Oversee and manage construction contracts, procuring new vendors through the bidding process or formal RFP as required
- Work in alignment with the overall strategic direction of the team, the projects and ATB's 10 year strategy
- Report on and develop KPIs for all projects including project financials
- Provide technical guidance and expertise to the project team to deliver projects in a secure, regulatory environment
- Represent ATB Financial to all external stakeholders, consultants and contractors for assigned projects. This may be authorities having jurisdiction, architects, engineers or general contractors.
- Manage and oversee all project close out activities, including one year warranties
- Schedule work, manage and track all pending and active projects, forecasting as appropriate
- Utilize the different project service delivery models and contract typologies within ATB
- Improve and be accountable for the project vendor management process for all project related consultants and contractors
- You have the ability to network and cultivate productive working relationships with ATB business partners and external contacts.
- You possess strong analytical and interpretive skills required to recognize and comprehend complex issues, policies, regulatory requirements and industry information affecting ATB's environment.
- You are a high energy, self-starter who is productive and successful working in a remote, (temporarily) home-based environment, and possess excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skills.
- You are flexible, can work in an agile fashion and can be adaptable in ongoing change
- You are well spoken and communicate your ideas eloquently, both verbally and written and in a graphic fashion.
- You are a problem solver who can apply data to shape conversations and point to strategic directions
- You are motivated and can see opportunities. You possess the drive and resourcefulness to locate the support required to bring an idea to fruition
- You are a seasoned professional familiar with all aspects of construction project delivery and the project lifecycle, from design through to decommissioning
- You have the ability to think critically, see the bigger picture and connect the dots to broader strategies
- You have strong technical construction knowledge and have a strong technical aptitude
- Considerable contacts within Alberta municipalities and the architecture and construction industries would be considered a strong asset.
- Experience with corporate accommodations, consolidations and space programming, as well as space decommissioning
- Work on projects with specialized banking equipment and practices would be considered an asset
- Proven teamwork skills and a collaborative approach to solution development.
- Direct experience working on the client side of the construction industry in projects of varying scope and scale
- In addition to the above, a PMP designation or robust project management experience is required.
- Experience with a distributed retail network, and delivering projects in multiple municipalities would be beneficial
- Minimum 8+ years of construction or project management experience is essential for success in the role.
- Working knowledge of Bluebeam and AutoCAD are required; Experience with AssetPlanner, Trello, Jira, Confluence, Revit, Lucidcharts, SmartSheets or MIRO and the Google Suite would be considered strong assets.
- In-depth knowledge of CCDC/RAIC contracts, Master Spec documents, drawing set reviews and industry best practices that will support project delivery methodologies is required
- Leadership experience, over and above project management, and contractor/consultant management is required.
- A post-secondary degree in architecture, project management, engineering or other relevant field. Accompanying professional designation considered a significant asset. Diplomas with similar focus or the equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
