Job Description

New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking a Product Owner to help our client with the design and delivery of digital health tools and platforms to support the ongoing evolution of a connected health system and digitally enabled health care. This position will participate in Scrum teams as a Voice of the Customer, and develop user stories, create backlogs and roadmaps for various platform capabilities related to appointment management, electronic (email/SMS) communications, and immunization documentation.

Requirements:


  • Proficiency in presenting product plans, updates, and results to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Skilled in collaborating with development teams, designers, quality assurance, and other stakeholders to ensure a successful product development cycle
  • Ability to engage with various stakeholders, including healthcare providers, clinicians, administrators, and patients, to understand their needs and incorporate their feedback into the product
  • Capacity to gather feedback from users, stakeholders, and analytics, and use it to iterate on the product for continuous improvement
  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Certified Product Owner in Safe (SAFe POPM)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and end-users
  • Knowledge areas:
  • Awareness of current trends, innovations, and emerging technologies in healthcare and technology industries to identify opportunities and stay competitive
  • Abilities:
  • Awareness and working knowledge of the BC health care service delivery model and digital health strategy are preferred
  • Familiarity with various healthcare technologies, software development processes, and integration methods is necessary to make informed decisions
  • Aptitude for using data and analytics to measure product success, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and guide product decisions
  • In-depth understanding of healthcare systems, terminology, regulations, and workflows is crucial to develop solutions that align with industry requirements
  • Ability to identify potential risks and issues early, and implement strategies to mitigate them
  • Capable of creating a product roadmap that aligns with business goals, user needs, and technical constraints
  • Strong knowledge of Agile principles, Scrum, Kanban, and other relevant methodologies to facilitate efficient product development and adaptability
  • Proficient in making informed decisions quickly, balancing user needs, technical feasibility, and business priorities
  • Experience in healthcare technology, digital health, or related domains is preferred
  • Knowledge of user experience (UX) and user-centered design principles to create products that meet the needs of healthcare professionals and patients
  • Skilled in eliciting, documenting, and prioritizing user stories and product requirements, ensuring that the most valuable features are developed
