Job Responsibilities


Imperial is recruiting for experienced process engineers for a variety of positions within the Strathcona Manufacturing Complex organization. Typical responsibilities may include:


  • Own unit mass balance to support energy and cost reporting, as well as annual long term plan development.
  • Work with cross functional teams to identify, develop and implement operational and facility improvements with focus on safety, reliability, economics and sustainability
  • Effectively communicate status of unit operation, improvement opportunities and operating costs to various stakeholders
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders including operations, reliability, and automation engineers to support safe and reliable unit operation
  • Participate in risk assessments, root cause investigations, corporate networks and communities of practice


One of the successful candidates, after receiving operating / field experience as a process engineer, will be transferred into the projects organization. They will support development of a wide range of projects (small, discrete changes to larger, refinery process units) under the Project Management Framework working independently and part of a larger, global team. The successful candidate must be mobile within and beyond Canada


Qualifications


Academic


  • Demonstrated leadership and strong academic skills
  • Completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Engineering in Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum or Civil preferred


Other


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are required for the role
  • Commitment to safety on and off the job
  • Fluency in French is an asset for certain positions please note in your cover letter if you are fluent in French
  • A valid driver’s license and a safe driving record are requirements for certain positions
  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic, results-oriented individuals who are energized by working with people and by achieving superior results
