Process Engineer Jobs

Agilus is recruiting for a Process Engineer in the Manufacturing Industry in Crossfield, Alberta.

As a Process Engineer you will provide hands on process, technical, engineering and project management support relating to the expansion and commissioning of a smaller scale plastic resin manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities:

• Manage assigned scope of engineering work related to the overall expansion of an existing resin production process including piping, water, air, material conveyance, liquid chemical piping for raw material inputs, storage tank farms, raw material delivery systems including commissioning, start up and ongoing production.
• Interpret requirements; research options and develop specifications to ensure product regulatory compliance. Work in multidisciplinary teams to ensure engineering deliverables that meet project requirements and internal standards.
• Meet all safety requirements and regulations. Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) where advised. Develop a flexible hands on approach to a team environment. Follow company policies and procedures.
• Assist Maintenance in troubleshooting in the event of a problem. Critical technical problem-solving leading to technical decisions. Support product development and technical support services. Provide technical support and expertise to external and internal customers.
• Planning and installation of new equipment. Risk assessments of the equipment and processes being used. Includes staff safety, safety within the plant, and environmental impact. Continual evaluation of equipment and processes to ensure both efficiency and quality remain high.
• Assist the design of expansion process and oversee installation of the process, piping and equipment required to expand resin production lines. Modify and optimize equipment and processes that are already in place. Use of simulation software in the development of new processes.
• Completion of documentation to show and ensure compliance with both internal and external regulations and protocols. Oversight of processes to maintain optimization of a continuous resin manufacturing process. Monitoring of equipment-including regular testing and ensuring maintenance tasks are carried out. Data collection, interpretation and report writing.
• Responsible for project success whether project leader or as part of a project team. Help design and develop a continuous manufacturing process along with the layout, piping, connections and equipment for EPR expansion project. Commissioning and qualification of the new ERP expansion project.

Requirements:

• Presentation and interpersonal skills, ability to clearly communicate technical and organization information, high degree of initiative.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Critical thinking with exceptional problem solving and multi-tasking skills
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite, strong Excel skills.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts to audience with varied levels of technical background.
• P. Eng. required.
• Bachelor of Science with Chemical, industrial or Mechanical Engineering Degree (or similar related degree)
• 7+ years related job experience – Hands on experience in chemical process/manufacturing expansions projects including: equipment installation, process design and process installation, commissioning and startups required
