Process Engineer Jobs

Objectives:

Our client, a professional engineering firm, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Process Engineer. The successful candidate will provide process engineering services for upstream oil and gas facilities and pipelines, including working with a team to scope new projects, design, procure, support construction, and assist with commissioning. They will contribute to diverse projects, each ranging from $1 million to $200 million total capital cost.

Qualifications:

At a minimum, we require:

• 5-10 years of experience in process engineering for upstream oil and gas facilities, with a strong understanding of related chemical processes (e.g., gas sweetening, dehydration, refrigeration, acid gas injection).
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
• Accredited Engineering degree (Petroleum, Chemical, Process, Industrial or related).

Ideally, you possess:

• Experience working with small to medium-sized (<250 employees) oil and gas engineering services (EPC) firms.

Responsibilities:

Process Engineering

• Monitoring and reporting on results to confirm solutions have a positive impact on operations.
• Completing professional engineer responsibilities (e.g., stamping/signing drawings; taking legal technical responsibility for engineering work).
• Reviewing and analyzing facility processes to optimize effectiveness and efficiency.
• Conducting process simulations for new and existing facilities, using relevant software.
• Advising on process safety issues.
• Creating relevant documentation and diagrams, including P&IDs (piping and instrumentation diagrams) and PFDs (process flow diagrams).

Collaboration

• Training/mentorship for other engineers with less experience, including delegating work, discussing technical issues, and helping when required.
• Working with other disciplines to move projects forward such as project managers, engineering groups, regulatory (permitting), vendors, and inspection (shop/field).
• Corresponding with clients, including conducting meetings and process reviews.
