Job Description
Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self-directed permanent part time Primary Care Assistant to support the Urgent Care Clinic.
In accordance with Northern Health’s vision of an idealized system of services where people and their families receive primary care services in Primary Care Homes supported by interprofessional teams, the Primary Care Assistant functions as a member of the interprofessional team.
As an integral member of the team, the Primary Care Assistant works to support Primary Care providers and the Interprofessional Team (IPT) in the delivery of safe, efficient, and quality Primary Care Services throughout Northern Health. The Primary Care Assistant provides both operational and administrative support in a clinic and/or other community setting in accordance with Northern Health policies and procedures.
Shift Rotation/Hours of work: 08:00 to 16:00, 12:00 to 16:00, 12:00 to 20:00 (Rotating)
GR Baker Memorial Hospital is a full care hospital with 26 acute beds, four ICU beds and five crisis stabilization beds. Some services provided are laboratory, diagnostic imaging, pharmacy, home and community care and home support, mental health and addictions, general surgery, internal medicine, otolaryngology (ENT), community cancer care, physiotherapy, respiratory therapy, environmental health and speech and language therapy. Visiting specialists in cardiology, pediatrics, orthopaedics, plastic surgery, urology and ophthalmology.
Quesnel has a population of 10,000 (2021) local residents and is one of the central interior's oldest cities and home to the world’s largest gold pan. Nestled on the banks of the Fraser and Quesnel rivers, Quesnel is the commercial centre of the North Cariboo.   • Demonstrated proficiency in computer word processing, spreadsheet applications, and specialized clinical information systems.

  • Ability to communicate effectively using both written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to type 40 WPM.
