Rutland’s Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC) has an immediate permanent, part-time (0.67 FTE) Physiotherapist opening.

The UPCC Physiotherapist Performs Functions Such As
Within a public health context, Physiotherapists in Urgent and Primary Care provide the expert “value-add” resource to a physician’s practice.
  • Assess and make recommendations for falls risk, balance, gait impairment, gross mobility impairments, stroke recovery, and return to work.
  • Vestibular screening and treatment.
  • Chronic disease management.
  • Identify risk of skin breakdown due to immobility.
  • Assess and make recommendations for pain management, positioning and mobility.
  • Assess and make recommendations for Musculoskeletal conditions (including back pain, acute sprains/strains, etc), symptom management (fatigue, SOB, non-pharmacological pain management) and equipment.
  • Resource for development of public education and community based exercise programs.
  • Lifestyle modification and improved fitness.
  • Pelvic floor dysfunction screening.
As a member of the UPCC Team, you will work independently and collaboratively providing physiotherapy services to support regular, ongoing health care for people who do not have a primary care provider and/or urgently needed primary care services for those who cannot see their doctor quickly enough to meet their current health need.
The care team includes family physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, physiotherapists, social workers, and lifeskills workers. You will provide same-day, urgent primary care services utilizing a team-based care delivery model.
