ABOUT THE JOB
Reporting to the Director, Social Media and PR to execute the social media and PR strategy for TMD and its clients’ brands. This role will support the strategies, research, and media outreach activities associated with our various PR campaigns including, but is not limited to, researching and developing relevant storylines, managing content creation, assisting with distribution across digital and traditional channels, sourcing and coordinating media opportunities, and preparing and communicating timely updates to both internal senior leads and client contacts. This role will also be responsible for the monitoring, reporting, and analysis of social media performance while aiding in the deployment of social media posts. The PR & Social Media Coordinator must be based out of our London, Ontario headquarters.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Public Relations:
- Develop press releases, media kits, facts sheets, storylines, pitch documents, ghost-written articles, etc. to support the sourcing of media coverage
- Stay up to date on trending news and research to develop fresh, relevant storylines.
- Ensure required thought leadership content is polished and appropriate
- Be able to utilize PR tools to create and manage contact lists and analytics.
- Create and monitor media listening projects
- Function as an internal PR SME (subject matter expert), supporting project leads in researching, developing, planning and executing effective PR strategies.
Social Media:
- Understand overall aspects of the clients’ businesses and the full service offering of their company to better understand key business objectives
- Social media community management (responding/engaging while maintaining the voice of the client’s brand) and building social media listening queries to monitor brand mentions and industry trends
- Keep up-to-date with the latest social media trends to provide manager and internal teams with suggestions for improvement
- Act as editor/overseer of social media content for accuracy
- Analyze, review and report on effectiveness of social media efforts to maximize results and make recommendations for future campaigns.
- Apply your knowledge of SEO principles including keyword research and implement social media SEO tactics
- Execution of social media activities (i.e. scheduling, monitoring brand sentiment, online reviews)
- Work with social media management tools such as Hootsuite, Brandwatch, Google Analytics, and be able to extract key metrics with these platforms
- Use your in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, LinkedIn, Snapchat etc.) and how users and brands engage with each to deliver best-in-class experiences

THE EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION WE ARE WE LOOKING FOR
- Thorough knowledge of social media and email platforms/metrics and general landscape
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a PR, communications, or journalism-related role or relevant Post-Secondary Education or a combination of both.
- Excellent computer skills are required for this role in Microsoft 365, Google, Canva along with design, project management and operations software;
- A high attention to detail; ensuring consistent quality of work.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to complete assignments and tight timelines.
- Demonstrated willingness to be flexible, versatile and/or adaptable in a changing work environment while maintaining effectiveness and efficiency.
- Passion for PR and a solid understanding of digital and traditional media, media relations and editorial best practices, emerging channels, and major social media platforms
