Vexxit is an exciting Canadian company that delivers a digital solution for solving legal and financial challenges for Canadians using technology. We are constantly innovating and are on the cusp of becoming the leading marketplace for legal and accounting services.

We are expanding our remote team to include a Platform and Cloud Engineer. We are looking for an experienced individual with a track record of maintaining and supporting operating environments and services.

The Role

The Platform and Cloud Engineer (PCE) will collaborate and work with several stakeholders and partners. The PCE will contribute to the growth of our technical operations, leading and implementing best practices for our operating services. The PCE will work with the Development team to implement and support Developer Operations (DevOps) activities that support the growth and sustainability of Vexxit’s product suite.

Responsibilities:

• Define and support development practices that build and enhance our product development activities
• Be an active member of the product delivery team (development, planning, brainstorming, etc.)
• Build, document, and modify technical processes and systems to standardize operational and deployment practices
• Plan for growth and implement sustainable cloud infrastructure designs
• Create detailed system documentation and environment plans
• Is proactive in suggesting enhancements and technological choices impacting both infrastructure and product
• Implement and manage service operational reporting and dashboards
• Participate in defining new architectures and steps to enable a system supported by Continuous Integration capabilities
• Ongoing assessment of cloud and solution design to support growth (security, performance, stability, scalability)
• Manage and monitor operational, development and testing environments
• Develop detailed service continuity plans for operational uptime and product availability
• Identify enhancements for both the infrastructure and solution
• Work closely with the development team to understand the roadmap and align service support accordingly

Qualifications

• Software development background preferred but not required
• Solid understanding of monitoring, logging, and tracing
• Proficient with Azure DevOps or similar toolset
• Degree in Computer Science or related technology discipline, or equivalent experience and education within the technology industry (SaaS experience preferred)
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Terraform an asset
• Minimum of 3 years' experience supporting and implementing Microsoft Azure cloud solutions (or similar cloud platform)
• Experience in report development with Power BI an asset
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to listen, understand, and work with multidisciplinary team members to solve problems
• Solid understanding of cloud networking infrastructure, container ecosystem, and platform concepts
• Familiarity in developing and shipping software built with .NET Core and React an asset
