Job Description

Balance physiotherapy is one of the top clinics in Toronto specializing in providing care to individuals with neurological conditions. Founded in 2004, Balance Physiotherapy prides itself in fostering a team environment while providing exceptional care to the community. The clinic space is 5000 sq ft and offers 2 gyms, a heated above ground pool and 7 private treatment rooms.

Balance Physiotherapy is thrilled to be adding atalented Physiotherapist to our team.We are looking for someone who is a critical thinker and seeks opportunities to be challenged. Our fantastic team includes highly qualified physiotherapists(extensive training in the Bobath method, vestibular therapy and the McKenzie approach), a hydrotherapist, a registered massage therapist and a strong administrative support staff. We promote continuing education through clinical mentorship as well aseducation fundingto help our therapists grow and bring new skills into their practice.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team
  • Communicates pertinent information and recommendations to clients and/or care providers
  • Maintains current and accurate clinical records according to standards set by College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
  • Participation in and contribution to all aspects of the rehab program as needed including home based rehabilitation, functional and community activities.
  • Attendance at meetings including staff meetings, clinical meetings, and client team meetings.
  • Responsible for the delivery of physiotherapy care to patients with a wide variety of neurological conditions, including brain injury, spinal cord injury, Parkinson’s Disease and stroke. Assessment and treatment of other conditions such as post surgical rehabilitation and chronic pain can also be expected.

  • Please note a car is required for this position to accommodate community referrals (~20% of caseload)


    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience working with individuals with neurological/movement disorders and/or complex orthopaedic injuries
    • Additional training in Bobath, McKenzie (MDT) protocols, acupuncture or vestibular physiotherapy are an asset
    • Individuals with 2+ years experience working with individuals with neurological conditions will be given preference, but new graduates with a keen interest in neurological physiotherapy are welcome to apply
    • Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from an accredited College or University.
