ThePhysical Security Applications Administrator (PSAA)will perform a key role in leading the day-to-day operations of physical access control, CCTV, and other physical security systems for the client and will report directly to the clients Manager, Physical Security. The role will support site security teams and perform a broad set of tasks including technical applications support of access control and CCTV systems management, Emergency Notification systems, and support of field security devices. Responsible for providing technical Subject-Matter Expertise (SME). The PSAA will also be required to assist in security systems commissioning activities, in the design and testing of system enhancements and project activity for new installations or upgrades when requested by the client.


The Physical Security Applications Administrator (PSAA) supports the Physical Security and Life Safety CoE in its overall mission in providing a safe and secure environment for Compass staff and customers. The role requires someone with advanced technical knowledge and the ability to provide outstanding levels of customer service in a fast-moving, dynamic and flexible environment.


The ideal candidate will have proven success in a security technology or related role. A technical understanding of hardware, software, development, and production support methodologies, as well as project management experience is desired. While primary duty hours are day shift, candidates must be flexible to work in the event of emergencies or other operational needs.


Responsibilities & Duties 

• Investigate and troubleshoot issues by determining root cause to remediate. application issues and develop proactive measures to prevent future occurrences.

• Centrally document, track, and monitor application issues.

• Application Manager for Genetec access control system and CCTV. End user management; application configuration; functionality; compliance and performance monitoring.

• Change Implementation responsibility for support processes and management of the security systems from an operational perspective and application owner, and third-party contractors.

• Centrally document system designs, configurations, and troubleshooting guidance by writing and diagraming relevant information and creating FAQ's for supporting common issues.

• Maintain a general understanding of security industry technology trends and a thorough understanding of all company products and services and technologies.

• Build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure collaborative success and keep abreast of new and improving technologies and solutions.

• Provide well-written reports and verbal brief outs on projects, initiatives and or other technology updates as assigned.

• Serve as a point of escalation, guidance, training, and mentoring for Operations staff and partners.

• Other tasks may be assigned as long as they are in line with the overall intent of the role.


Qualifications 

• 5-10 years relevant experience

• Must be Genetec certified

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Strong organizational and time management abilities

• Excellent attention to detail and quality

• Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills

• Proficient MS Office skills

• High degree of comfort in fast-paced dynamic / ambiguous environment

• Knowledge of Access Control systems to include Physical Identity Access Management (PIAM), Physical Access Control Systems (PACS), Visitor Management Systems (VMS), Access Control Devices & Equipment

• Knowledge of IT systems and configuration, incl. networking of security systems and devices. Necessary client IT certification to manage application service line and work in cloud or physical server & network environments. Proficient working knowledge of servers; applications; databases; Windows OS; networks; and peripheral hardware.
