Personal Support Worker Jobs

Requirements:

• Experience in supporting people in their daily activities of their choice.
• A demonstrated commitment to the Mission, Vision and Values of the organization.
• Must be available to work all shifts - days, evenings, nights and weekends.
• Comfortable with computer applications an asset.
• Knowledge and understanding of how to facilitate and support Person Centered Planning.
• A minimum of 1 year experience supporting people with physical and intellectual disabilities, autism, mental health as well as challenging personal expression (behavior).
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• A diploma in Developmental Services, Social Services or Personal Support Services.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Casual

Salary: $25.48 per hour

Schedule:

• Evening shift
• Day shift
• Weekends as needed
• Morning shift
• Night shift
• 8 hour shift
• On call
• 4 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:

• Overtime pay

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Port Colborne, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Education:

• Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:

• Supportive care: 1 year (preferred)

Language:

• English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• First Aid Certification (preferred)
